Jesus in Revelation (31)

The Seventh Trumpet

“But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets.” Revelation 10:7. The time covered by the seventh trumpet’s sounding is the most critical and decisive period in humankind’s history. What God has accomplished in the time of the seventh trumpet must be discussed in-depth. The seventh trumpet announced the birth, the life, the death, and the resurrection of the Savior of the world. The message in the seventh trumpet’s sounding is the most excellent news the sinful humankind received ever. An angel declared to the shepherds, “…Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.” Luke 2:10 – 11. The incarnation and the wonderful exchange on the cross are beyond belief. God’s selfless act on behalf of the undeserving world will remain the most excellent source of knowledge about our Creator and Savior for eternity.

How exactly did God make the eternally condemned sinners righteous in Jesus Christ? We could never know the full answer, but we are grateful to our God for accomplishing it on our behalf. Throughout eternity, the faithful will be discovering new and wonderful truths about what God has accomplished in Jesus Christ on our behalf. The apostle Paul maintained that Jesus Christ is the mystery of God. “My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full reaches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Colossians 2:2 – 3.  The faithful must study God’s mystery to grow daily in understanding, grace, and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Throughout humankind’s history before the Messiah, God reminded the faithful that His mystery would soon come. “This is what the Lord says: “Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is close at hand and my righteousness will soon be revealed.” Isaiah 56:1. Moses, more than one thousand years before the Messiah told the people, “God will raise you a prophet like me. You must listen to him.” Deuteronomy 18:15. All the announcements and witnesses God sent to His people were fulfilled in the Messiah, the mystery of God. Everything God promised has been accomplished in the body of Jesus Christ while on the earth. God gave the people the exact time when His mystery will become a visible reality.
