Jesus in Revelation (53)

The Beast out of the Earth.

“Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but spoke like a dragon. It exercises all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.” Revelation 13:11 – 12. The second beast looks like a lamb with horns that are normal to the lambs. The military and the second beast’s economic power, the United States of America, are unequaled. The second beast urges the world to seek peace and prosperity; however, it does not hesitate to use its economic power to punish and restrict those who do not espouse its values. Its values are those of the first beast, the beast out of the sea. They are:

                        Limited Government Power

                        Rule of the Law

                        Equal Justice

                        Respect for Women

                        Freedom of Speech

                        Religious Tolerance

                        Private Property

These are envisioned as the inalienable rights of individuals. No nation of the world owns these rights, and no nation is exempt from them. The beast out of the earth is committed to defending these values at any cost. These look like a lamb but speak like the dragon in the assessment by this author.

The analyses by this author. The tactics and efforts that Satan exercised through the first six kingdoms were not successful. Despite his ingenuity and wisdom, he could not frustrate God’s plan for humankind. Satan’s previous losses are irreversible. However, no one should expect that Satan will simply back-off. Likewise, no one should assume that Satan, the highest order of created intelligence, will repeat the failed tactics and efforts. He knows better. No one should doubt it. During the seventh kingdom on earth, Satan will employ efforts and tactics that will have a broad appeal but with vailed consequences. He will influence and promote a strategy and efforts that give a false sense of success.

Satan will, through human agency, the seventh kingdom, employ a more benevolent approach and strategy. He, we must keep in mind, was an angel of light before he rebelled against God. Satan will again present himself as the Lucifer, the angel of light. “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.” 2 Corinthians 11:14 – 15.

Paul, here, is addressing the problem of false apostles who pollute the mind of the believers. However, Satan will work with equal urgency in both religious and socio-economic-political fields. The marginalization and misrepresentation of Jesus Christ among Christians have a significant value for Satan. It assures him that he will again be the prince of this world. The people, perhaps with the best intentions, are working on behalf of Satan. The human agency will install Satan as the prince of this world. The human agency exercises the authority given to her by Satan himself. Revelation 13:2.
